Anti-Terrorism Speaker Uninvited, Then Reinvited To Rutgers

Published

on

Rutgers University invited Fox News political analyst and anti-Islamic terrorism speaker Lisa Daftari to give a lecture entitled “Radicalism on College Campuses,” rescinded the invitation, and then extended it again, reported Campus Reform.

A petition that called Lisa a “bigot” and “unapologetic Islamophobe” made the rounds online and got more than 1,600 signatures. The petition cited times she said “Islamic terror takes its guidance and teachings from the Quran, which is Sharia law” and “When you go to the mosque and you’re part of a community, and you want to feel important and relevant, and want to give back to the cause — [ISIS] recruits you. You say- I can be an ISIS wife.” The petition said “This statement, equating Muslims everywhere with ISIS, is undoubtedly hate-mongering.”

Ok so maybe Lisa neglected to make the distinction in that particular part of that particular speech. But just a quick Google search reveals that she clearly sees ISIS as only a minority of Islam.

Rutgers initially stood strong against calls to cancel Daftari, saying “if these issues are not brought to the forefront and given a chance to be debated, then they may continue to stay buried,” but the school eventually caved less than a week before Lisa was due to speak this Tuesday, cancelling her talk.

Another petition was started, this time by conservative and libertarian students at Rutgers, defending Lisa’s statements and saying that students at the school called the speaker a “cockroach” and a “bitch.”

And then Rutgers went back on their decision to UNINVITE Lisa, with an administrator sending her a message reading: “I want to write to clear up any confusion regarding your invitation to speak at the University….To the degree that I may have contributed to the confusion, I hope you will accept my apology.”

The school offered her four November dates to speak.

Prof Tries To Redefine ‘Disabled’ For Palestinians

Published

So the National Women’s Studies Association gave out a book prize this month to Rutgers University professor Jasbir K. Puar, for her book entitled “The Right to Maim,” reported The College Fix. Who has the right to maim? Well, Israelis have the right to maim Palestinians, at least, according to Professor Puar.

“Drawing on a stunning array of theoretical and methodological frameworks, Puar uses the concept of ‘debility’— bodily injury and social exclusion brought on by economic and political factors—to disrupt the category of disability,” the book’s description says on Amazon.

So by this point, if you have experience with the hivemind that is social justice, you might be starting to see what’s going to happen. Remember those victimhood categories? Race, gender, sexuality? Well, disability is also one of them and we’ve now apparently reached the stage where, to create empathy for Palestinians, we’re actually redefining the concept of disabled to include not just actual disability, but also whatever we choose, as your progressive overlords, to categorize as economic or social oppression.

“Puar’s analysis culminates in an interrogation of Israel’s policies toward Palestine” — what’s Palestine? You say that almost as if it’s a separate country or something! — “in which she outlines how Israel brings Palestinians into biopolitical being by designating them available for injury. Supplementing its right to kill with what Puar calls the right to maim, the Israeli state relies on liberal frameworks of disability to obscure and enable the mass debilitation of Palestinian bodies.”

Wow. That’s a lot of drivel, or what George Orwell would call duckspeak. Anyway, I wonder if this award-winning book of Puar’s includes anything about, oh let’s say, the fact that at least 50 out of the 62 Palestinians killed by Israel during the moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem were, indeed, Hamas or Islamic jihad terrorists, according to CNN. And speaking of Palestinian terrorism, what about the Avivim school bus massacre or the Dolphinarium discotheque suicide bombing? Do any of those deaths or injuries of Israeli children fit under your definition of “disability,” Professor Puar?

Prof Who ‘Resigned’ From White Race In Trouble

Published

on

Remember Rutgers University professor James Livingston? You know, the guy who got so angry after seeing white kids at a Harlem restaurant that he took to Facebook calling them “little Caucasian assholes,” saying that he now hates white people, and resigning from his race? Well, Rutgers found the professor guilty of violating its discrimination and harassment policy and the professor now faces punishment, according to free speech nonprofit the Foundation for Individual Rights In Education (FIRE).

Rutgers investigated the professor’s comments using three lenses: public concern, speech made outside his job duty, and whether the speech interfered with Rutgers’ ability to perform its mission. The school said that commenting on gentrification satisfied the public concern part and that James made the remarks on his private social media account, but thought his comments could impair the university’s ability to operate properly, saying “students interviewed by the local news station said they would be uncomfortable taking a class with him.”

Rutgers went on to say that while James believes “reverse racism” is a myth and that that view “is frequently espoused in academic circles, applicable federal and state laws do not exclude any race from their protections.” Rutgers mentions that even after his initial post had been deleted, the professor made “another belligerent barb against whites. Given Professor Livingston’s insistence on making disparaging racial comments, a reasonable student may have concerns that he or she would be stigmatized in his classes because of his or her race.”

I might just reverse my belief that university equity offices should be scrapped because this report from the one at Rutgers also very incisively points out that James’s comment wouldn’t have been appropriate if he had replaced white people with black people.

It’s not clear yet how exactly the school will punish James, but he could be fired for his remarks. FIRE is demanding that Rutgers reverse its decision, saying it violates the dude’s First Amendment rights.

Anti-White Prof Told ‘Get Your Burgers Somewhere Else’

Published

on

I recently broke the story of Rutgers University professor James Livingston, who complained about what he called “little Caucasian assholes” annoying him at a restaurant and said he now hates white people. Since then, the restaurant owners have given him a little piece of their minds. And the professor? Well, he’s only doubled down, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Livingston said that he “now hate[s] white people,” advocated for apartheid, and called rambunctious children at a restaurant “shithead” and “moron,” blaming their behavior not on their age, but instead on their RACE.

“We ask that our name is removed from your rant because we do not want to have anything to do with you,” said Harlem Shake owners Jelena Pasic and Dardra Coaxum. “And yeah, we ask that you get your burgers somewhere else. We do not tolerate ‘racism’ either. We thrive on equality and fairness and have full intentions to keep it that way!”

Professor Livingston seems to have a SLIGHTLY different definition of racism, though.

“I’d be worried, and maybe even penitent, if I thought that ‘reverse racism’” blah blah blah “was in the realm of reality, where we could measure its results.” “But there’s no such thing….Do you have unseen and unspoken power over others merely because you were born a white boy and they weren’t? Ask yourself, and be honest about it. OK, it’s a rhetorical question with a built-in answer. Of course you do.”
