UNC police arrested and charged student Maya Little with vandalism of the Silent Sam Confederate statue, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation. She apparently used both paint and her own blood.
UNC Chancellor Carol Folt says that she’s prohibited by law from taking down the statue or else I bet she would in a heartbeat. But another cancerous tentacle of the totalitarian left might get to it before students, state, or administration and that’s the professors.
Seventeen UNC professors wrote a letter to Folt saying they would take matters into their own hands and tear down the statue at some unspecified time if it wasn’t taken down by the end of February. “We do not fear arrest, indeed we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate the commitment that the Carolina faculty has to the wellbeing of its students and the principles that make this university great.”
Oh, you don’t fear arrest? How brave. I guess that’s why you’re not attaching your names to this little statement. You know, this kind of reminds me of New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu, who tore down Confederate statues…sometimes under the cover of darkness. He was, of course, awarded for his heroic efforts with the JFK “Courage Award.” To be fair to Maya Little, at least she identified herself.
Now, a lot of people brush off stories of Confederate statue vandalism or removal by saying oh well why are we “glorifying” or “romanticizing” traitors? But remember: the left’s not going to stop with Lee and Jackson. They didn’t in Charlottesville, where perpetually aggrieved crybullies have vandalized the Thomas Jefferson statue on multiple occasions. This isn’t an attack on certain individuals; no, this is an attack on history.
Confederate Statue Torn Down And Now UNC Out Millions
Protesters at the University of North Carolina tore down a Confederate statue in August.
Present at the protest was UNC graduate student Maya Little, who previously smeared a mixture of what she claimed was paint and her own blood onto the statue and just got charged again this month with assault of an officer and inciting a riot, reported Campus Reform. It’s a cliche at this point, but this sure does drive home the whole “jobs not mobs” slogan. Except…for the poor employees tasked with cleaning up the mess made by these adult children.
From June 2017 to June 2018, before it was torn down, UNC spent over $390,000 protecting the Silent Sam statue from protesters. That money could have covered tuition for about 11 out-of-state or 43 in-state students. It was during this same period that 17 anonymous UNC professors wrote the school, threatening to rip down the Confederate statue themselves. They said:
“We do not fear arrest, indeed we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate the commitment that the Carolina faculty has to the wellbeing of its students and the principles that make this university great.”
You know, principles like cultural Marxism. Now here’s the thing: UNC Chancellor Carol Folt would love to scrub her hands of this matter completely, even if by the kind of savage mob justice we just witnessed. But a 2015 North Carolina law forbids her from removing Silent Sam from campus. So to comply with the law, the school proposed creating a new building for the monument on the outer part of campus.
The cost of this building? Five…million…dollars. That’s in-state tuition for more than 500 students. You know, something tells me that some of these Silent Sam protesters are the same individuals complaining about tuition costs. I’m also betting that the irony escapes them completely.
Prof: Dr. Ford ‘Told The Truth,’ Nominates Her For Award
Every year, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill gives out a “Distinguished Alumna and Alumnus Award” to up to five alumni who have “made an outstanding contribution to humanity in any walk of life,” reported Campus Reform.
For the 2019 award, UNC English professor Jennifer Ho wrote a letter recommending Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who made the unsubstantiated claim that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her.
“What Dr. Blasey Ford did on September 27, 2018 was something that was extraordinary in how ordinary it was; she told the truth about a sexual assault she experienced when she was fifteen years old at the hands of Judge Brett Kavanaugh,” the professor wrote.
“She told the truth.” How does Jennifer Ho know this? Was she at that 1982 party? Someone better tell the FBI.
“By awarding Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as a distinguished alumna, UNC Chapel Hill sends a message to her, to our students, faculty, and staff, and to the larger community of the US and the world that we believe her – that UNC Chapel Hill believes survivors of sexual assault.”
Yes, but the problem is, you DON’T know what actually happened. I guess when it comes to Ho, feelings don’t care about her facts. And none of this should be too surprising when you look at Jennifer’s scholarly work, consisting of publications like this complaint about pink being feminine called “No F****** Pink Ribbons! Is It Time For The Bow To Go?,” as well as English courses with titles like “Mixed Race America” and “Critical Race Theory.”
Why spend tens of thousands of dollars on reading and discussing Shakespeare when you can instead mold yourself into a weapon for cultural Marxism, am I right?
Gun-Toting Antifa Prof Charged With Assault
University of North Carolina professor Dwayne Dixon is charged with the assault of Patrick Howley, who’s editor-in-chief of Big League Politics, reported Campus Reform.
The altercation allegedly occurred August 20th which was when left-wing thugs tore down the Confederate statue on campus:
Dwayne Dixon teaches Asian studies and anthropology at UNC Chapel Hill and is also a leader of an Antifa group called Redneck Revolt. The professor told students that he scared off white nationalist James Fields, the guy who killed Heather Heyer with a car during the Unite the Right rally last year.
Dwayne is scheduled to appear in court on September 27th. But don’t get too excited. Remember that bike lock professor Eric Clanton got three felony assault charges dropped against him. But tearing down the statue and apparent assault wasn’t the only mischief leftists were getting up to at UNC. Remember this?
To be fair, UNC tells me that it has charged Dixon and 17 other individuals for things like resisting arrest, vandalism, misdemeanor riot, and mask-wearing during the three protests in late August.
But of course, charges aren’t convictions. Durham, also in North Carolina, dropped charges against 12 defendants involved with the ripping down of that city’s Confederate statue LAST year. Hopefully Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court will shake things up.
