University of California, Merced professor Fernando Cortes Chirino expressed his desire to fight conservative author Ben Shapiro to his class who’s simply salivating at the prospect of beating up conservative author Ben Shapiro, who’s scheduled to visit the school in February.
“Y’all don’t think I wouldn’t enjoy ripping this fool’s shoulder out of its socket?” asked Chirino, reported Campus Reform. “Oh my God. Y’all don’t know. Y’all don’t know. For charity.”
Chirino declined to debate Shapiro, stating “I wouldn’t debate him, because being in the same room as that fool is putting this nonsense fascist ideologue on equal footing with me, using my real degree to legitimize garbage politics that are at best nonsensical.”
But the professor did not explain how his degree would legitimize another person’s politics.
“Gladiator?” asked the professor. “You should pass this around: while I won’t debate this fool, why don’t you all set up some sort of an MMA thing between me and him. And then, the winner can take those $40,000 and give them to whatever charity they want.”
Do taxpayers know they’re funding this thug’s 20-minute diatribe grounded in baseless smears, appeals to emotion, and tough guy “might makes right” talk? The professor then invited his students to confess their racism.
“If you’re not convinced that this is racist, it pains me to inform you that you are in fact a closeted racist,” he said. “Don’t be in the closet about your white supremacy, come on out.”
“It’s okay. Come clean. I will forgive you. This isn’t like we’re gonna people change. I know people change. You don’t gotta be like that.”
Chirino compared the protest he wanted to organize for Shapiro’s visit to UC Merced to the riot that cancelled Milo Yiannopoulos’ speech last February in Berkeley and cost the city $100,000 in damages. The professor asserted that people would “remember Berkeley fondly.”
Remember, it’s not only millennial Antifa members inciting violence on campus; you also have professors who normalize the group, like “white genocide” professor George Ciccariello-Maher, as well as ones like Eric Clanton, the bike lock professor, who actually commit violence with the generation they indoctrinated.
